To observe, explore, express and create—to share the power of your art—is to grow. Holy Child’s dynamic arts program strengthens and celebrates creativity as an essential aspect of personal and intellectual growth. Energize your classmates with a Flash Band performance. Design a fashion creation from recycled materials. Compose music. Paint sets, dance in the ensemble or join the backstage crew for one of our popular theatrical productions. Whether you are a beginner or seeking to take your talents to a professional level, you will find the inspiration and depth to flourish.
Our faculty of outstanding artists and passionate educators leads a full arts curriculum as well as offering small-group afterschool classes in dance, instrumental music, theatre production and visual arts. Our Visual and Performing Arts Department stages faculty and student exhibits; organizes trips to Washington’s many galleries, performance halls and museums; and connects students with alumnae artists.
At least 60% of our student body participates in our musical productions and theatre performances.
Vocal, instrumental, dance and acting instruction is available. Performance opportunities range from musicals to dance concerts to off campus workshops and competition.
Introductory through advanced portfolio courses.
Drawing, painting, ceramics and more are part of the curriculum in addition to the opportunities for students apply their talents to projects and exhibits on campus and in the community.
